February is National Cancer Prevention Month!

Just being aware is NOT enough! A Call to Action is our responsibility. Personal actions to prevent and reduce risk are the first steps. Here are six tips to follow:

  1. Maintain a healthy diet and weight.
  2. Avoid tobacco/quit smoking.
  3. Protect your skin- use sunscreen when outdoors, even on cloudy days!
  4. Get immunized!
  5. Get screened regularly. Cancer detetected early have a higher survival rate.
  6. Know your family history, discuss with your doctor.
